If you have any questions, feel free to message me. 55w hids are more bright than 35w hid but generate more heat so 55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area. the main difference between 55w hid and 35w hid is their ballasts. I hope my financial endeavors and the experience I gained save you time and money. yep, 55w hids are not fit to the stock halogen housings. I made a lot of stupid mistakes buying different lights for my anzo's. I bought 4500k wanting the factory color, but as of right now I have head lights more yellow than the factory halogens as I wait for replacement 5500k bulbs. 55W ballasts will reduce your bulb color by about 1000k. One last thing with HID's got me because I didn't read all the way. I started with LED's and got very bad flicker which also reared its head with the HID's. THe other method to fix this flicker is using FORSCAN. This method works fine, but is yet another little brick you gotta figure out a way to hide. You can use anti-flicker capacitors that go inline between your ballasts and your factory wiring. The difference between HID and halogen is amazing, especially when youre driving down poor lit roads. I havent yet to come across the brightness between 35w and 55w as previously having 55w. Aslong as the car has projectors rather reflectors youre fine. The best candidates are those with projector type designs which also have a built-in horizontal cutoff blocker. I tried both and I'll tell you my preferred option. Ive always had the HID kit when changing cars. A 35W HID will put out 3x more than a 55W halogen, I can only imagine what a 55W HID will do However I just want to add that these HID bulbs are not suitable for just any ol bike. Now for another issue I learned the hard way. This harness pulls straight from the battery and uses the factory headlight plug (the h7 from the anzo's) as a trigger for the relay harness. I ended up replacing the cheaper kit that was supplied with a canbus harness with a Morimoto 55w kid with the HD relay harness. Some times the ballasts would recover and come back on, some times they wouldn't. It would completely shut off the head lights when the engine would kick back on. This all only took me about 4-5 weeks to put together. The start stop feature gave the first kid I tried fits. I will cost me about $100 BUT I will have a lot of wiring and connector components leftover for other projects and a new multimeter and soldering iron i've wanted to pick up for a while. I am building my own Bixenon Wiring harness(I'm doing some custom work on it to allow for DRL's with Fuse #37 pulled and the highbeam connector being diverted to the bixenon portion of the projector). Thats only $375 in parts for a good quality setup. I pieced together a pretty decent set myself. Its not terrible if you watch HID planet and other forums for used HID parts. If you want form AND functionality than you HAVE to fork out the cash for a retrofit. It should be understood though that pnp HID kits are a PURELY cosmetic mod and will decrease the overall performance of your lowbeams (although not enough to make them "useless"). Seriously, pnp HID kits DO NOT perform better than the stock system but if you get a nice 5000K - 6500K kit they look really cool! The glare in our reflectors isn't as bad as a lot of cars i've seen so generally there isn't an issue("generally"). Guess what happened to my HID kit? My dad shot me some cash to let him have it for his camaro and he absolutely LOVES the color of it. Did I notice an improvement in visibility switching from my pnp kit to my stock halogens? most definitely, did I love my pnp kit and not regret putting it in? most definitely! I just took the kit out of my car so I could be totally ready to hook up my retros when I get them back from HID Illusionz in a few weeks (no I haven't sent them out yet!). The LED bulb kits run 35-135 depending on the brands. I did a LED swap in all my vehicles and never had issues. In my opinion HIDs kits are expensive and are crap. I loved it, the color was the perfect sporty look I wanted for my car. Ram2300 said: I honestly would get plug in play LED bulbs 55w or under 6500k color 10,000 lumen or so without balist. I'll admit I had a 6000K lowbeam HID kit in my civic for about a year. not much difference lah, just change the projectors only.
